Can someone please test this!

Got this SD Card on a well known online auction site (you know the one, begins with ‘e’ & ends with ‘y’), it came on a non-Garmin micro SD card(Sandisk), and I need someone with a G2 Vision compatible plotter (mines in storage) to download & test this before adding it to the list of Garmin index of maps available.

On the SD card is a Garmin folder containing the gmapsupp image of 2.86GB, and a Garmin device XML document file. I have only uploaded the gmapsupp image.

I tried to unlock the image several times with fast image unlocker, but was just left with the original image (rather than 2 images that you should get after running the unlocker) so I presume the image is already unlocked.

I didn’t run the ‘Garmin remove personal data’ on the image for 2 reasons, a. I couldn’t seem to follow the instructions, & b. I haven’t added anything to the image anyway, so it should be clean and free from personal data.

I split the image using winrar into 10 parts of approximately 286mb each and have uploaded them to Megaupload, (which is one of the slightly less annoying upload/download sites if you’re a free member).

I’m not sure if there is a FID for this but I’m certain it’s unlocked anyway.

If the downloads don’t work can someone PM me with what I’ve done wrong as I’m a relative newbie to the forum.

I'll post result.
FIU 1.9 replaces the map with the unlocked one , must backup the locked one before using it. It's written in FIU thread.
Some devices dont accept unlocked map , so we prefere them locked, but thanks for uploading this BIG map.

I appreciate the d/l links and post.

But I'm unclear....

Is this the Locked or the Unlocked image ?

I know Catymag already said we prefer locked to allow us to unlock with our own preferred method.

Timp4411, all I did was copy the image from the SD card, winrar'ed it. but I'm sure it was unlocked when I bought it. I didnt tamper with it per say, I just tried to unlock it for my own personal backup, but Fast Image unlocker said it was already unlocked when I ran it, so I just uploaded the origional on the Sd card. Whats on Megaupload is whats on my SD card.
Sorry if its not locked, blame the ebay seller,the joys of eB*y, you're not sure what you really get when you make a purchase;-).
Where are the deformities?

Hi EIcojo,

I haven't D/L the files yet. I was asking Catymag if she noticed anything as we have had some reports of larger g2 Bluecharts not displaying properly if unlocked using the FIU.

I am just now starting the D/L of the files and will check for myself too.

I know what you mean by not always knowing what you get in an eb*y auction. I've had some good luck and some bad luck.

In any event thanks again for the D/L... I certainly DO appreciate it. It had to take you a good amount of time to prepare the image to upload to Meagupload and your time in doing so is appreciated.
