If you nuvi 3790 and your poi icons not showing when you send your poi via poi loader?
Then try this.
Go to the folder that contain your gpx file and bmp file
Make sure both have the same name
Right click on your bmp file, properties, Details, Bit depth (..)
If your icon bit depth is more than 8 bit then your icon will not appear .
To change it from 24 or any other size just do this.
Right click on the icon, open with, paint , save as, BMP picture, Save as type,256 color bitmap, then Save
Now recheck your file Bit depth it should be 8.
Connect your garmin, start poi loader clear the old poi and restart your poi loader and transfer your new poi and you should find the icons on you nav map.

You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
worked! been trying to find a fix for this problem over the net for days..
thanks
update*
btw i noticed the icon became very small now, need to fully zoomin to see the tiny icon (size is 22x22 pixel), i think this is due to the higher resolution on the 37xx units.
anyone know the correct size ? i tried with 100x100 but still only display the 22x22 area out of a 100x100..

Which is the largest size of icon that POI Loader will accept? I heard someone managed to install 48 x 48 px icons, but I couldn't figure how.
POI Loader is obviously resizing icons to 24 x 24.
Have you tried 44x44 8bit bmp? This should work with POILoader and nuvi 34xx but I don't know if with 37xx too.
The Poiloader in this case has nothing to do (I think) ... associated with the BMP file whatever it is (at least tried to 48x48x8)
The problem could be the nav: the new 2012 series displays up to 48x48x8 (tested and orrible!!) ... with the old series also accepts this format, but cuts the icons to 24x24
Bye,bye
Where to look for BMP images? In my unit does not.
