Hello all. First-timer here. From the Netherlands.
3 questions:
1/ Should the SW also be changed? HWID OK, but SW?
I have downloaded a 300 gcd file for the Zumo 220. The version in the RGN program says 250.
2/ The downloaded 510 file says ''regional file only''.
What does that mean, and do I have the right one?
3/ How do I make a backup of my 510?
I have contacted the guy in Belgium that claims webupdater says his 510 is a 220. If I get a response I will inform you.
Almost ready to try.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Thanks for your answer, I searched the whole forum before posting this question and tried several ways to enter the pre boot mode. The only way that there's something happning is by holding the upperleftcorner and after a while I come in the calibration screen "press the white dot" and after a few seconds it's going to boot further and comes into my "problem screen" loader loading...
Ok, I managed to do an update, I read somewhere else on the forum that you have to start the updater before the calibration screen pops up...
Update 2: managed to install the firmware with the great cure tool and now it hangs only with the Garmin logo connected to the usb (it recognize the usb disk, yay!). I don't see the picture with the computer and when I disconnect it from the USB the Garmin turns off... what can it be?
Update 3: It works!! I installed the "normal" zumo220 update firmware after the cure and now everything is fine. Thanks to all the information on this forum!

I have exactly the same problem, were you able to solve this ?
I have exactly the same problem.
Have you been able to recover the Nuvi?
Regards.
If you read post #24 you will see this:

Hello,
dfireblade thanks for the explanation, it helped 1 one big step ahead.
Can now connect back my Nuvi to the pc.
When disconnect it turns off.
Can you tell me what file exactly you uploaded and how.
Many thanks
Mefranky
I assume you've successfully flashed CURE firmware made by GarminCure3 and now you can access the internal flash drive. Am I right?
If so then now you should remove ?:/Garmin/GUPDATE.GCD. It is this file which causes infinite reboots.
Then flash ORIGINAL firmware made by GarminCure3 and your device should be ok.
