    Hi! All,

I am new to gps editing and needs some advice from knowledgeable seniors here.

I tried using the cgpsmapper ver 0098 to convert garmin australia nt file but encountered this problem:

"Error PE11 : Preview map has to e less detailed than any IMG file in the mapset. Chnage level defnition in the [MAP] section to a less detailed. "

How do I overcome this ?

Sorry for the noob question. I downloaded the Garmin Australia 2009 NT .img file but wish to use the mapsource software to select only certain area to upload into my GPS. The mapsource software is unable to read the .img file, how do I convert it into mapsource readable format? Tried using the mapsettoolkit and the cgpsmapper and got the error message.

Completely new to this, appreciate if any clear instruction on this available.

    Thanks a bunch...

    Default Trojan detected ...

    Hey Midnight Blues,

I did install today cGPSmapper v0099b Routable release from Team ROGUE on my Vista x64 PC. However although my McAfee VirusScan Enterprise did not see anything, my (free) firewall Windows 7 FireWall Control from SphinxSoftware (sphinx-soft.com) did catch the patcher Patch.exe trying to get on the internet ... Hence it must contain a Trojan ... Therefore it is better to have a functioning FireWall or to disconnect from the internet while installing ...

Well, the Keymaker.exe file appears to be safe ...

Thanks for info Antonio, good to know.
Nobody should connect to internet without good firewall, but just for example, I'm using "HEXelon MAX 6" calculator, all updates are disabled, but it is trying to connect to internet whenever I run it.
    Is it Trojan too?

    Default About Trojan ...

    Hi Midnight Blues,

Well, at this time I did not install the HEXelon MAX 6 on my PC. From it's website I see it is a freeware, so you never had to use a patch or keygen. In most cases, the reason why such applications try to connect to the internet is that they look for an update or a new version. This can be confirmed if you can de-select this feature in the Configuration of the tool.

Well if your application has updates disabled and do not need to get any information from the internet, then it's a curious behavior. This might be a Trojan. Although not all Trojan are harmful, this is surely an un-vanted function from the end user point of view. I would block it on my Firewall.

However, if this behavior (trying to connect on the internet) is coming from a Patch or Keygen, there is a 100 % chance that you face a Trojan ... which my might be harmful because its owner is unknown.

    Cheers.

Well it looks like on the web site of HEXelon MAX 6, they say :

"Exchange rates table and currency converter are update from Internet by one click"

This may be the reason why it is seeking an internet connection when it starts ...

I am having the same problem. The program doesn't seem to want to create a mapset.img file for me so I can import into Mapsource. The first time I tried to install/patch, I think the serial number got messed up. Does anyone know where it is stored, so I can delete and start over?

    Thanks.
