Checked your links out, the Firmware Update for GTMxx Traffic Receiver is actually only a change log Garmin page.
If you click on View System Requirements, nothing happens and there is no file to download.

I downloaded the 32KB RGN file you provided but how do you load it into the Nuvi?
Webupdater does not work, I also tried the Firmware Flasher (Updater.exe) program I have to load the file, that too does not work.

Is this file for all Garmin Traffic Receivers or specific models?

In the 765, 855 and 1390T I have the following module (latest update via webupdater):
    GTM20 006-B0482-01 5.50 GTM20 RDS-TMC Receiver 003F5C00

765 and 855 have GTM20 as receiver (connected to different bases). The 1390 uses GTM25 as receiver (connected via USB).

My theory: Both Navteq and TTN "rent" radio space on the RDS stream on a few diferent radiostations in a certain area. Some of those stations use RDS for other things too (name of station, song, artist) and on those stations the name of traffic provider for GPS gets "lost" and apear as "no name". But the signal is present and active if $ is present next to the name. It is just a limitation of the RDS system that carries the traffic that sometimes the name is not carried.

Thanks for the tip with the ad folder. I did delete only the file inside and the ad folder disapered from "Tools". I did make the folder R/O and Hidden for now, see if it does anything.
LE: In my 765 I have in Garmin/RemoteSW a file that is called "006B048201.BIN" and I suspect that is the file that holds the traffic software. I think you have it too, if not I am attaching it (zipped) here.

You could have deleted the folderand contents, changing the attributes won't help, the folder and ads will re-appear, it's like a cancer you can't get rid of. Take a ride with the GPS and you will see another ad appear and the folder will return with whatever coupons were found on your ride.

The ad reapeared. Same one. I'll try to make the ad file lenght zero.
Funny is that on the 855 I don't have ads... And the traffic file is located in the Garmin root, not into RemoteSW one... I will move it there too on 765.

BTW do you have idea why the FID key generator doesn't work anymore on 1390T? It tells me that there are too many numbers (the 25 key). It comes with Navteq.

    @superduper67
What is telling you too may numbers, the keygen or your code entries into your GPS?
Are you sure you only entered 25 numbers, quite easy to make a mistake.
What I do is copy the generated key into Word, then I put a dash after each 4 numbers, the last set of numbers will have 5 numbers. Much easier entering 4 at a time.
If your sure you entered 25, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you.

To access the link of the Garmin page for the download, click the right mouse button and choose "show source code" and you can download the file FirmwareUpdateforGTMxxTrafficReceiver_550.rgn, which must be compatible with the GTM20 (not being, is not installed). To install it, the easiest way is to drag the file onto the icon WebUpdater with the GPS connected to your computer. When GTMxx gps is turned on it will be updated since that the installed firmware version is lower, otherwise nothing will happen. With the GTM connected, check in Tools, Setup, About, the version of software installed.

Thanks for the explanation, I already have the GTM 5.50 installed, that's why it didn't work.
