You can unlock a map to a SD card by using its ID. Then the card can be moved and used in any gps. If the map on the card is unlocked to the gps ID it will only work in that gps.

I am using gmap tool all the time. Able to join and split map but have no success in locking maps.

As said device id is to unlock not to lock
