I can't do that now since my 3790T is still on it way. I bought it from the US at $240

I'm just wondering why people here with the US firmware can use POIs.

Sorry but no POIs on 3790 US, it's a well knows issue, your Philippine friends are talking about other units-
The only way to show POIs while navigating is to have a Guide ,like Marco Polo -

lol when I posted it I had a reply like this :

Hmm.... What model and what FW?
I cant see any POI from GARMIN map on GPS screen like that
I repeat ,if they can , should be nice they explain how

You have to navigate to get to the good.

Yeah, I'm trying to ask them how've they done it. It seems that it was never an issue for them. They use a 3790T which has a US firmware and are bought from the US as well.

Ok these are screens from my 3790 US latest firmware 4.10, I loaded with Mapsource a part of RoadGuide map posted on forum, it shows in Nuvi as RoadGuide Ph POI map.
I cant see POIs : City of Manila not in navigation, just browsing the map

    Hi all
I suppose it depends on how POI are implemented in the map.
For European/US firmwares we have to use specific maps to see POI on different GPS models (like 765). POI display when browsing the map but not when navigating.
Some local (Asia) contributive maps can display DEM 3D and JCV (with Europe/US firmware) but it is still under experiment (malsingmaps). To achieve so they are using the original Garmin compiler.
Some newer models (3790) do not display polygons buildings... in the same order than older models. mappers are making some tweaks to there maps but so far nothing 100% working for all models when map is compiled with CGPSMapper.

The best thing to do in my opinion is to use an Asian model in Asia and Europe/US model elsewhere. Alternatively change the firmware of your receiver.
Just have a look to the new 3790V (Asia only)

So 3790V is newer than the 3790T? I just bought a 3790T thinking that it is the latest and most advanced model

What does "V" stand for in 3790V?

    Thanks.
