Shouldn't be a problem. How did you merge the maps, from where did you download them?
Hi people,
I lost my original post somewhere in this forum - my apologies if it shows up somewhere it shouldn't
My problem: I loaded 3 sets of maps onto a micro SD (Bluecharts, Tides and Shonky Topo). When I viewed them in the unit, they all seem to be overlayed?
I cannot disable each individual set? I tried loading the same via USB cable and the same result.
Is there a way to load these and be able to enable/disable them on the unit?
Cheers

Do you try disable map through map setting in device?
I suppose you have Rino 650!? On map page you must press menu button then select map view option and choose map what you want to be enable or disable.

I dont know Rino , but I guess it has profiles like my 62 and you should use profiles to see one or another map.
CN can be covered by topo in some profiles ,in spite of maps priorities
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Yes Giomen, I have a Rino 650. I went through the steps you wrote above but it seems the Bluecharts and Shonky Topo appear as one map on the unit, and to make things worse the Bluecharts did not display all the maps I loaded...I'm very puzzled. The Tides map worked fine...

This is my procedure of loading the maps onto the Rino650:
1. In Mapsorce, select required bluechart maps with maptool then transfer to card/internal memory of unit.
2. In My Computer, open the destination and rename the xxxxxx.img to bluecharts.img
Do the same with other maps e.g. Topo and Tides - renaming them as you go.
Now when I disconnect the device from the PC, turn it on, go to the map setup I can clearly see the 3 maps I have just installed. But, when I disable all except Bluecharts, it opens up on the unit but appears to be mixed up with Shonky Topo!!!
I'm beginning to think it may have something to do with Mapsource?

Try rename gmapsupp.img to xxxxxx.img with using only Latin alphabet and digit and without space.
You may also upload 2 copy of active profile file (one state with all maps are enable and second with all maps disable). Then error will be reveal clearly for me.

Hey guys, thanks for your help. The Rino 560 is good. A friend of mine had tested it and found that the procedure of loading maps above is OK. What had happened is that when you scroll to a position on the unit the refresh rate is lagging behind so the maps take a little time to display and while it's refreshing, a cross hatched pattern appears on the screen for a few seconds then the maps appear.
