Looking for Turtoial for reading out 10 digit Garmin Unit ID & SD Serial No. for Garmin 430sx

Dear Forum, what Software shall I use for Windows 7 to read out 10 digit Garmin Unit ID & SD Serial No. for Garmin 430sx

I am a rookie and don´t want to blow up my Garmin GMAP 430SX.

Sorry to ask but my Garmin 440SX has only an SD Slot. Is it still possible to read out the 10 digit Garmin Unit ID ? I assume that is difficult.
I have some Serial No in the back.

There are few methods to determine UnitID without connecting it to computer.
If you have a locked map on SD card you can find unlock code inside .img file or in .unl file.
This code can tell you your UnitID.

If you know unit serial number you also can get an UnitID. Go to my.garmin.com and select "Register your Garmin product"
Registering your unit you enter a serial number and you'll get an UnitID.

sind it cam with a build in map and I don´t have an SD card yet!!

I was not aware that I can copy my bluecharts bakc on the SD card.

Now I have to external power my Garmin, since my boat is in winter storage.

Another this that bugs me on my Garmin.

Roger My Garmin 440SX has a buiild in Map for US east coast.

The option that you mention is not available on my firmware. I can not download the with Information>User Data> Data> Transfer> There is no copy build in map. !!! Have you seen this before?
Since you are an expert. How can I check what map is build in and what map I heve on the SD card?
Can I put more than one mao on the SB card?

Unfortunately I do not have that model or similar for testing

I just linked and read the manual. Wait for response from some user that has this model of device

For maps on SD, try to put different mapset and see if they work: gmapprom.img ,gmapprom1.img, gmapsupp.img, , gmapsup1.img, gmapsup2.img,Pippo.img,etc...

I not expert,sorry.....simply user like you
