If the device has not been updated to the latest version, it may only be compatible with SD cards up to 2GB in size. If the latest version of software is loaded to the device, it will be compatible with up to a 64GB in capacity SD Card formated FAT32, depending on the device.

Here is a breakdown of which SD card sizes can be used:

◦GPSMAP 420, 430, 440 series v3.10 and below - 2GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 420, 430, 440 series v3.20 and above - 64GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 421, 431, 441 - 64GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 520, 530, 540 series v3.10 and below - 2GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 520, 530, 540 series v3.20 and above - 64GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 521, 531, 541 - 64GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 525, 535, 545 series v3.10 and below - 2GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 525, 535, 545 series v3.20 and above - 64GB SD card
◦GPSMAP 526, 536, 546 - 64GB SD card
