    Default Is it possible to change Garmin device from North America to European one?

    I have opportunity to buy used Garmin fleet 670 or Dezl 760 on Ebay but they have preloaded maps for the USA and Mexico. Can I "fix" devices in manner to convert them to European one? I know how to do that with micro SD card, but I wonder is it possible to convert American version in European version for sake of easier maps upgrade and long life support?
    So, I want my device to be recognize as European one.
    Appreciate any help on this matter.

    No, you definitely can't convert any Garmin in that way. Garmin devices are 'localized' to a certain OEM map area. So even if (say) US, EU, SA, AU etc. localized devices of the same model have the same HWID and use the same firmware you cannot change the localization to another. You can load unofficial unlocked maps for another area however. To be completely legal you should just buy them of course.

    @Butters
    That's a real pity, but thank you very much on your quick answer. I will try to buy a European version of the device.

    That's not to say that you can't run Garmin maps for any other part of the world. You can certainly use an EU map on an SD card, you simply can't change the device's OEM map entitlement nor it's factory localization.

    Thanks, I understand that I can do it over SD card.

    I think he's confirmed his only workaround is to use EU mapping, preferably on sd card, which is what i took him to mean by this:
