help Garmin Zumo 220 - can't see the second map

    Hi

I have zumo 220 and I wanted to upload the eastern map and Germany. One file is called gmapprom and is visible to the device while gmapsupp cannot see.

Unlocked img, uploaded to the .System folder
I uploaded gmapsupp to Garmin Foler but can't see it either.

How do you force Garmin to see two maps?

    Troubleshooting suggestions:
    (i) Look in Garmin folder for GarminDevice.xml file. Open the file in a text reader or browser and look at the paths and file naming for maps. If it doesn't show gmapsupp.img for .System then it will show gmapprom.img and maybe gmapprom1.img also so maybe just try that last naming as a test.

(ii) Perhaps there's a problem with the map itself, open it in GMapTool and check it for correct unlocking and/or errors. Or swap the gmapprom/gmapsupp map naming and see if the one previously appearing now disappears, and vice versa.

(iii) On a media card, x:/Garmin/gmapsupp.img is universal for all devices with a media card slot. So if the map still doesn't work on a card with that path and naming it's definitely faulty or the file size is too big to be seen (must be under 2GiB for FAT16 or under 4GiB for FAT32).

unfortunately but there is no other file in xml. I tried to add but I see that the file is overwritten and returns to the above version after reopening

If I change the name to gmapprom and the working map to old or gmapsupp I can see it so the map file is ok.

the device has no memory card slot

Editing the XML file is pointless for such a purpose because the device re-writes it on every boot cycle as you've found.

Going by the XML text you've partially reproduced, gmaprom.img is the only detail map name that's supported in the internal memory.

the device has no memory card slot
Yes it does. Remove the battery, there's a microSD slot to the left of the battery compartment.

You can also check the supported detail maps by holding the battery symbol until the hidden menu is shown. When a page headed "SW Ver" appears, press 'Next' in lower RH corner to see Version Information page then press Start Test>More to reach the Inventory page. It will show "Boot BLK; X-Loader; System; Basemap" as the first four listings then the lines between Basemap and TZMap will show the supported detail map names. Please post what is shown there.
