favourite Later map version causing routing problem?

Hello. Wondering if someone can help me. I have 3x of the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT model for 3 drivers in my house, each w/ their own car.... The GPS come with free lifetime maps and can update to latest 2024.10 map. My problem is the routing on the new maps sucks, it doesnt give me a direct point-point routing; instead the direction takes me off highway onto local roads then back on highway. To fix this problem, I noticed the map from 2022.xx gave better point-point routing... I have 1x 2595LMT on the older map and 2X295LMT on the latest map. I want to copy the older map onto the 2X w/ the newer map (so all 3x 2595 will have the 2022.xx map). Can someone tell me how to do this: what files to copy out of the source GPS and do I need to change the unlock code for the target 2x GPS in the *.xml file? If I need to change the unlock code for the other 2x on the *.xml file, will Jetmouse 1.5 work? How do I figure out the FID/MapID #? Will the older map work for the other 2? Note: Firmware on all 3x is 8.3. Pls provide detailed instructions for the files to copy out. Also, would like to mention that the 2024.10 maps are bigger and required that I insert a MicroSD card so dont know how this will impact the unlock code and files to copy out. Or better yet, how do I get the GPS to route me point-point without driving off highway onto local road then back on highway...?? I played around with the short distance, faster travel and the routes are worse! Dont want to use "avoid area" as that makes things also worser.

I suspect your two problem devices with identical weird routing is because they're set for "Shorter Distance" rather than "Faster Time", or there's some unnecessary Avoidance active in Settings perhaps. That is far more likely the cause than some new route calculation fault in a later version of detail mapping.
