Hi!
I have a Nuvi 3790T, and 2 computers - one is windows based and a MacAir. I usually conect the Nuvi to Windows based computer. Last week I connected to MacAir and since then, every time I connecto to the windows based - it ask to format the Nuvi and donīt find the files. But the Nuvi is working fine.
I made a search to find a similar problem, but couldīt find one.
With the MacAir the Nuvi connects ok, but the RoadTrip isnīt as friendly as MapSource.
Can you help me to solve this problem? Thanks in advace.
Hi Catimag
Thanks for yours fast answer.
I did everything you suggest but the computer gives a message saying that canīt read the Nuvi due to a I/O error
A Device I/O Error is an error that occurs as a result of using a peripheral device such as an external hard drive. I/O means an input or output error that is caused by a driver that is outdated or not yet enabled. The device driver is a necessary component for allowing your operating system to control and communicate with the peripheral device. When a Device I/O Error occurs your PC is unable to set up the software that is needed to configure the device driver and operate the peripheral unit.
There are many different factors that can cause a Device I/O Error so you can begin to find the problem through a few basic troubleshooting steps.
Find the Device: To locate the device that is causing the error, click on "Start" on the main toolbar of your desktop and then choose "Control Panel" from the menu. When the Control Panel opens, select "Performance and Maintenance" and choose "System." When the window opens choose "Hardware" and then click on the "Device Manager." Locate the device that has a red "x" marked on it. Click on the "General" tab and then choose "Enable Device" and click "OK." If there is still an error proceed to click on "General" and then choose "Troubleshoot" and click "OK."
Update the Driver: Go to Garmin page and download the latest drivers.
After the driver is updated perform a test.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

this is what I could found on Garmin knowledge base:
Why do I get the error message "I/O device error" when using Garmin applications with my device?
Answer:
This error message indicates a communication error when software is being written to a device. If you receive this message, try the following:
Ensure that the device is connected directly to your computer and not a USB hub
Try another USB cable or USB port on your computer
Disconnect all other USB devices except for Keyboard and Mouse (i.e. printers)
Update the software on your Garmin device by using WebUpdater
Update the software on the Garmin application you are using
If you continue to receive this error message, try using another computer to rule out a configuration settings issue.
