    Did you unlock program (sw.unl)?
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

For Garmin Mobile XT, map file should be named gmasupp.img (or gmapprom.img) and should be placed in same Garmin folder where program is installed (program and map should be on SD card).
Do not remove original gmapbmap.img (this is basemap).

It should work with both names gmapprom.img and gmapsupp.img, maybe was missing one "p" in name, like "gmasupp.img" in your post above or "gmaprom.img"

    Hi everyone.

About I´m back from MG, and now i understand what happened im my trip, that took me more 150 km than i had planned.

Autoguia, routed me the BR-120. (sorry, but i´m unnabe to copy link. you can search for br-120 on google, is a transportes.gov.br site)

According to DNIT website, the BR-120, is not completed, some places are just dust road, or just a planned road (nothing at all), but is avaliable in autoguia map as a ROAD.

So, tracksource, and citynavigator, are better options for routing.

I a noob in GPS stuff, but i consider myself as a enthusiast, because i really try leaning as much as i can. Something i did, with a good result was: Choosing a destiny and set a lot of secondary targuets thru the way. So Garmin make a route including all cities i choose as secodary targuets. This way i choose towns i want to go on the route.

I consider 1 good poid and 1 bad point about doing it.

The good one is: I reduce the chances of making mistakes. The bad one is: I don´t let GPS make "the best" route for me.

Someone asked about my Nuvi configuration, if "Avoid dust roads" are enabled, this is right. The problem is, that BR-120 was in the map as a pavimented road, but in some places, the road is just planned, as this link can show.

Maps are gettind better, but we cannot just set the targuet and forguet about-it, i wonder it was like it

Not complaing at all, just sharing information with all of you!
    Nice week for all!

I'm having some trouble loading the big file onto my nuvi 205w. I placed the file in my 4gb SD (\garmin\gmapsupp.img) and the unit freezes when the "loading maps" progress bar reaches near the end. Turning the unit off and removing the SD makes it boot fine (I only got City Navigator US lower 48 states 2010 that came with the unit in the internal memory).
    Any tips?

Try to remove the SD, turn the Nuvi on, go to TOOLS, SETTINGS, MAP, MAP INFO and uncheck all maps installed on the Nuvi's internal memory. Then turn it off, insert the memory card and try it. Hope it works for you.
    Sorry for my bad English...
