The OSM map is indeed routable. Just downloaded the latest and checked. I even find that it has more details as compared to roadguide.ph 2.07 as far as the Mindanao area is concerned. Maybe 2.08 (or the latest) has been updated but I wouldn't know as I am not a contributor and can't download their maps.

After further testing, OSM cannot route properly if your route involves a ferry ride. In this case OSM just connects your origin and destination waypoints in a straight line (with roads not routed). Roadguide 2.07, however routes it properly taking into account the shortest ferry routes.

Install in PC or MAC (different files), connect your device or SD/microSD Card to your computer, open Mapsource (only can open after the installation of all files), select the desired map, select the desired area, select the device to install the map to be created, click install and wait the process ends.

Manual of Mapsource (discontinued and no more supported, should not be suitable for modern maps; for this not recommended):

    Or...
The answer may be the area you navigating is not routable, something common with the OSM maps usually only routable in large cities...
(someone that use this map in real world may tell other history)

If this not solve, please give more details as the device you using, firmware version, area you cannot route...

    I hope been helpful.
