Sorry if my question seems stupid, but what exactly can you do with this map? Is it routable? Or does it have another purphase?

this is a topo map --this map isnt routable
Contour lines are lines drawn on a map connecting points of equal elevation. If you walk along a contour line you neither gain or lose elevation
Contour lines are useful because they allow us to show the shape of the land surface (topography) on a map

You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
Showing elevation is a necessity with regards to GPS data you might want to bring your 4x4 vehicle instead of a car when going to low lying areas specially flood prone places.
Here is a link that might be useful to those who aren't aware of it... I'm not sure if is the same contour map as the original post... in any case the mapsource version is available here...Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
no it's not the same, your link is for OSM routable map of Philippines

In Mapsource, select, with the Map Tool,
1) the entire Contour Map or a specific Area,
2) If you have say OpenStreetMap of the Philippines, select this also?
3) then select the RoadGuide,ph Map with thast 'Map Tool'
Then 'Send to Device' all these selected Map areas and it will upload them all (so can take some time as 'Contour Map' is BIG!).
You can then turn off RoadGuide and see OSM version. Both will have the 10M Contours. overlaid!
If that makes the Navigation Screen too 'busy' then one can turn off the 'Open Truth Map' for the 10m Contours display, and turn it back on as/when needed. Same with turning off OSM and re-activating view of RoadGuide

@catymag
Is the file in the original post newer than the file in the link in the OSM wikipedia?
How do you transfer this map to the 3790T? What filename should I use?
