Hi am new new here but am trying to download this City Navigator Europe NT an using mapsource on my Vista computer, which download for europe is suitable for my system
A 2GB card has 1.84GB after formatting, thats normal, it's how it works. You'll need a 4Gb card to fit the image

Just get a 4GB card because it won't fit. You loose space after it's formatted and if you really won't a technical explanation it's because 1K is really 1024Mb not 1000Mb and you need space for the FAT tables
Different 2GB SD's brands have different capacity.
Kingston 2GB (FAT32) 2.036.207.616 byte
Kentron 2GB (FAT32) 2.036.404.224 byte
Don't ask me why.
Hi,
I've downloaded Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2011.20 from this thread (Mapsource version) and copied it in the correct folder on my XP system (C:\Documents...). I know its right cause the older versions are just there, and mapsource lists those.
I actually have unlocked it, but Mapsource still says map is not installed. I am using Mapsource v6.16.2 including the patch. Maptoolset list the new card together with old ones. What am I doing wrong?
Many people wrote here click on the xxxx.msi, but there is no msi file in the download.
Don't know how to get this to work, help is appreciated.
My prob is that I need an image smaller than 2 GB, thus I wanted to make ma own image through mapsource.
Thanks
the right name of the folder must be :City Navigator Europe NT 2011.20.gmap
inside you must have
the right path is
(in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps)
(in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps)
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
I have all those files and folders in there, the only difference is that the pathname is:
XP - C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\GARMIN\Maps
because it is a German Language PC XP Edition.
However, I already have there a folder
City Navigator Europe NT 2010.gmap
and that is identified by mapsource and works all well.
Does this English - German make the difference? No registry required during Installation?
The Mapsource is all German too...
EDIT:
It is NOT a problem with German vs English. My download missed some folders and files in the Product1 Folder which prevented that it works. Now I redownloaded the card and all works very smoothly!
Thanks
