Sorry if this is extremely noobish but why would you want locked images?
If you can, post original Mapsource maps or locked IMGs-
just the original mapsource files allow to have a complete and functional map on gps
alternatively post gmap folder or a locked IMG-
Reading tutorials or using unlockers members will be able to unlock maps-
thanks in advance for your posts on GPSPower

Sorry if this is extremely noobish but why would you want locked images?
There are many reasons, but the most important is that original and untouched files ,
as said before, allow to have a complete and functional map on gps. on every Garmin gps-
Some devices dont accept unlocked IMGs, or some user's originated mapsource versions loose search functionality on our gps -
Another reason is that many developers offer their original files on their sites and copying their links on forum prevent links deleting-
Official download links are always preferable to host sites links- Creating alternative download links is useful if official downloads arent present.
Experienced users know how to process these files to have a complete functionality, better to post them like they are and explain how to do-
look eg. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
We have made some exaustive tutorials on forum- Users now know how to unlock files , so no need anymore to post unlocked maps- We can spend our time in posting some more interesting matters and threads in our discussion section-

Note :
Posting img with multiple maps is now pretty useless,
new Garmin GPS devices can save maps with different names, no need to merge them anymore,
For old GPS receivers GMapTool should be faster than downloading multiple maps again, if only one is updated-

My I add,
If you can, compress your map files by WinZip or WinRar before you post.
There are several benefits for doing so.
1. The file size is smaller, so takes less time to upload and download.
2. Better integrity check, you know a downloaded file is corrupted or not when you unzip or unrar.
On the other hand, when someone reports a problem with a downloaded map/file without compression,
you don't know if the map/file is corrupted or not to start with.
3. The original timestamp of the maps/files are preserved in the zip or rar file.
hallo catymag I am a new member and find the site a great help. And I have city nav europe as Rar, version 2011.40 unlocked img which I have been using on a garmin gpsmaps62s without problems. I would like to provide this for other members, but I'm rather naive as to how go about this, a little instruction woud be appreciated. Thanks
(ps if possible a step by step that even I can understand.)

We thankyou so much but we have posted

and
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
You can find all the maps posted in our INDEX
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Anyway to upload maps you can use sharing file Hosts like
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
splitting files with Winrar or 7Zip in more parts if they're big

I want to ask the add the recommendation of include the FID in the paid or non-free maps. If we don't have it and don't create the .unl file, the GPS may show a information window "unable to authenticate maps"... By the way, there is a simpler way to know the FID?
Recommended to use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to unpack my files.
Zero posters won`t have hide links available, please post a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to be able to like and unhide links.
↙ LIKE to show your gratitude and unhide links; refresh (hit F5) if necessary.
For maps with FID >2200 the file *unl is useless to create with JMKgen
For maps IMG Locked use the various tool for unlocking: the imgunlock.exe r.0.03 is very cool
For FID in MSV use the file TYP: the last 5 characteres are the code FID: code exa-> convert in dec. Or use PGFT
For FID in maps IMG use PGFT,GmapTool,ImgTool,ecc....
However, the FID should always be indicated by the poster: I agree
Bye,bye
