Help please. I downloaded the mapsource version and extracted it to the correct directory. Mapsource can't find it, and there is nothing I click on to register or install it. I have files of type .trf and .mdx and 2 sub-directories called CN_AusNZ..........etc and another one called product1. Where do I gi from here?

firstly you must enable hidden folders in windows:
When you start windows explorer ,click tools,folder options, select the view tab then put the dot in 'show hidden files and folders' also make sure there is a check mark in 'display contents of system folders' -
After that put the folder you downloaded, like it is ,in Garmin map folder
(in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps)
(in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps)
in mac
the maps themselves reside in a directory at: /Users/(your username on your computer)/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Maps
If it's locked run on it this tool

Hallo, can somebady help me instal this map to nuvi? I downloaded this mapsource version too /Product1, CN_AusNZ..., Info.xml, CN_AusNZ...trf,I00...TYP, CN_AusNZ...mdx/ I don�t see some .reg file, for mapsource. I don�t know where I must copy this file to pc /win/? Sorry I don�t understand previous post...Thank you to all ! geo

It looks like you have the GMAP directory for MapSource. That's the new MapSource format and also compatible with Garmin software for Mac.
No need for registry settings and a REG-file. Just copy to the Garmin GMAP path. It's described in post #6.

GMAP directory for Win Vista & Win 7
Installed for all users: "%ProgramData%\GARMIN\Maps" = "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GARMIN\Maps" that commonly resides on "C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps"
There's also a shortcut for "C:\Users\All Users" in Win Vista & 7 that points to "C:\ProgramData". So even "C:\Users\All Users\GARMIN\Maps" will work.
Installed for a specific user: "%APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps" = "C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps"
