Hi, public4001
I downloaded "TYP for outdoors" and unzipped it with RAR. But, it was broken. Could you please check whether the problem lies in me, or that file? Thanks.
Hi, catymag!
I am like a newbie. I spent the whole day yesterday in learn about this topo. I finally managed to upload this img file into mapsource. There are some problems and questions. If you kindly guide me, I would appreciate it very much.
1. Upload procedure: Unlock --> gmaptool with cgpmapper --> install.bat run (my mapsource is 6.15.11) => "Find" menu became inactive which is problematic to me. I knew that the free cgpsmapper has a limited function. How can I resolve this problem? Where can I get a cgpsmapper with full functions?
2. topo 3 is too large for my computer with 2gb ram. Can I split this into two maps, i.e. Australia and NZ. In this case, can I allocate any FID number to each and loaded unto mapsource?
Many thanks...

I can confirm that the "TYP for outdoors.zip" archive in post #10 downloads well with Mozilla Firefox v3.6.11 and unzips perfectly with WinZIP v14.5 Pro (build 9095) as well as with WinRAR v3.93. No problems detected.
Maybe it's the Internet Explorer problem with attachments?
Hi
it's not a free cgpsmapper problem, GMapTool originated mapsource versions dont have "search" in gps devices- to have a fully functional map you'd need an original Mapsource version- IMGs cant be splitted, you'd need again an original Mapsource version (if you want "search")

For those who are having trouble with the "TYP for doors.zip"
I have an etrex Vista HCx that I would like to install Topo Aus & NZ V3 into (actually a 4Gb micro SDHC card). I have Mapsource, Basecamp and Mapinstall all installed on my computer. I have downloaded the GMAPSUPP.IMG file and I have the Jet Mouse unlocker. My problem is that I do not know where to install the *.IMG file so that any of the above programs can see it so that I can use Jet Mouse to unlock it and then the relevant program to send the unlocked file to the Micro SDHC card.
I hope the above is clear...basically what I want is to have Topo Aus & NZ V3 on an SD card that will work in my etrex. Can someone please help?
Thanks and regards.
Hi duckwrangler
To put the image onto and SD card just create a folder called garmin and inside that place the v3 image file (gmapsupp.img) in that, together with the gmapsupp.unl file you created from the key gen serial you made with notepad using Map ID 2262 see attached pics also find link on how to install image to MapSource

Thanks for the help. I eventually got it all to work. My problem in doing the copy to the SD card was that I don't have a card reader that will work with them. I had to format the card and create a garmin directory on it using a friends computer. After that I used GmapTool to upload the IMG file to Mapsource on my computer and then used Mapsource to send the maps to the eTrex with the card in it.
BTW does anybody know of a card reader that will read and write to both CompactFlash (camera) and Micro SDHC (eTrex GPS) cards when plugged (USB preferably) into a computer running XP sp3?
