Great Britain Discoverer National Parks 1:25k Lake District-Brecon Beacons-Peak District

Are you sure you dont have 2 maps with the same FID ?
Lake district has FID 400 .
I donnow which one are you using ,but Great Britain National Parks 1-50K one has FID 400, while Garmin GB Discoverer 1:50K - Full Coverage has FID 2043.

Are those maps better than 1:50k maps, when I zoom In, I can see a vector map at the highest zoom but no raster map.. weird no ?

Anyone tried to go to 50m zoom and saw a raster map ?

I dont think so. Is there an app that will tell me what the FID is?

At one point I formatted my SD card and put only the Lake District map on it and it still wouldnt show, so I assume its not a clash between two maps.

You can use Gmaptool.

I have had a look at the img files using gmaptool. The Brecon Beacons and Peak District report FID 400. Discoverer 50K All reports a FID of 2043. I dont think a FID clash is the problem (as I mentioned, I had tried just the Lake District map at one point). When I look at the Lake District img, it reports the following:

Reading file C:/Data/Garmin Discoverer Lake District 25k UNLOCKED/GMAPSUPP.IMG.
Wrong header (DSKIMG GARMIN), file C:/Data/Garmin Discoverer Lake District 25k UNLOCKED/GMAPSUPP.IMG.

File: C:/Data/Garmin Discoverer Lake District 25k UNLOCKED/GMAPSUPP.IMG, length 415948800
File format errors (3)

There were errors, result is faulty.

I think I have had two problems.

1) The locked img files were not being unlocked by Fast Image Unlocker. This was resolved by using Garmin Unlocker Alternative.
2) The Lake District img appears to be corrupt. I have tried downloading it again, but I get the same error.

If the image was corrupt it would be corrupt for everyone not just you. Other people have used it without any problems.

If anyone else feels like sharing any GB Discoverer 1:25k maps that would be nice

I've checked the Lake district img in GmapTool, you'r right, the map is damaged-Some parts are ok and these are probably the parts I could see in my 62st (the posted screens ).Gps reads what it can.

The other 2 maps are ok and i could unlock them both with Fast Img Unlocker

Hi All

First Post so excuse me if I'm being dense and go easy on me

The Lake District Map appears to work on my Edge 800. In my test I've disabled Base Map in the device and loaded an SD card with just the Lakes as a GMAPSUPP.IMG.

It shows up OK in Map list.

Thing is, this looks like a 1:50K OS map to me rather than the 1:25K that it suggests it is on page 1 of the post. I'm comparing with my paper Explorer Maps (Old Skool) and also with both a Memory Map 1:50K & 1:25K electronic version of the Lake District National Park and this sure looks like 1:50K to me.

Am I doing something wrong or has anyone else noticed this?

Also the map although of the Lakes seems to have Road Mapping for the whole of the UK (which looks like a nice bonus) Does this mean that there's no need to load City Navigator as well or is there less detail in the "Road Supplement" on the Discoverer maps?
