Hi, my colours and detail are all wrong. Purple Water, and no land detail, unlike the screenshots above.
I installed into Mapsource using GMapTool after unlocking with Fast Image unlocker.
In GMapTool in 'Set Mapset FID', I set Mapset FID as 2444, and as the PID option now opened up, set the PID as 1, is this correct?
I then ran MapTK and in the image tab, directed it to the resulting image and selected 'Open', then ran Install Bat.
I read somewhere that if the colours are all wrong, the typfile was not included. What is a typfile and where is it located?
    Thanks

Try Basecamp, these kind of maps must be viewed in Basecamp, it's simple ,put it in an sd or in a pendrive ,in a Garmin directory. Basecamp will see it.
About your procedure to split a map for Mapsource, I dont understand the second part you described. Please check the correct one here :

Caty, I've always had problems displaying unlocked img's in Homeport.
I put the unlocked image into a folder called GARMIN on a 1Gb Sd card, and with a card reader put it into the USB port of the PC.
i've tried this both with a Pen Drive and a SD Card reader.
I've also tried to unlock the image from inside the GARMIN folder I created in both Pen drive & SD card, as well as unlocking it on the PC.
When I open Homeport, the Card reader comes up as 'Removable Media' with an Untitled Folder underneath, but there seems nothing inside this.
This has always been the problem when I try to display any marine map image on an external drive/card reader in Homeport (Home port does display some of my marine maps installed into Mapsource, including the Waterways above (but wrong colours for the Waterways).
    Thnx

Actually Caty, just looking at your pictures of the Charts in Basecamp, Post#3, my maps do look more like this when I display them in Mapsource, but dont look anything like the images you show in Post 1, are theise 2 smaller images taken from your GPS or from Mapsource?

Homeport and Basecamp can display locked maps on pc.
With Homeport just Bluecharts in :SD/Garmin /The file name(s) might be something like "VPC410S.img" instead of the common "gmapsupp.img". Usually one per sd, but there is a workaround:
    read Ballebar post n3 here
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Basecamp : topo and car routable maps SD/Garmin /anyname.img
    Mapsource cant display modern Bluecharts-
    The map above shows:
Shows inland waterways, including freshwater lakes, creek channels, streams, islands and more.
    Includes navigational aids and routes.
    Displays wrecks, obstructions and hazards.
Features locks, jetties, fishing locations as well as lake and river shorelines.
Includes searchable lakes, cities and geographic points.
.....and nothing else, just the lakes and some points.
Small pictures are from Garmin product page
If you install BCs in Mapsource with Gmaptool Homeport wont see them.
Gmaptool can install maps in Mapsource ,but not sure you'll have all the BC features, and frankly ,unless you must print a route, I dont guess any advantage of using Mapsource instead of Homeport for BCs-
Homeport is made for Bluecharts, Mapsource for Nuvi's maps-

Thanks Caty, thats cleared it up, Didnt realise I couldnt have them both in Mapsource & in Homeport, so if I uninstall the Inland waterways from Mapsource, I should in theory see the same Inland charts in Homeport using my SD drive.
I'm just used to using Mapsource so much, I got a bit dependent on it.
Time to shift my preference to Homeport, so.
I'll uninstall my G2 Vision charts, that don't display the correct info anyway, out of Mapsource.
    I'll try time permitting.
