Apparently, the update does not include changes on ECP & MCE. Malfreemap includes the recent changes to ECP & MCE.
Tested on my 3790
I was hoping someone would just dl the most likely and compare the ASR naming to their previous files then let us know. My money is on 1410_type1918357 - 814.83 MB, but that's an uneducated guess. I've downloaded it and found it contains only 2 files, 019QAVI8.ASR & 019QAVI8.SRX, indicating they're probably ASR'1' files. The other ASR files are bigger at 63.2 MB versus 48 MB which likely indicates that the larger folder contains ASR'2' for the later 2xxx/3xxx series. US/EU 37x0 use G2S rather than SID though, maybe local fw units use SID files but i don't know. There was an earlier post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] by bearcat indicating that the ASR files from the first link in P#1 [1410_type1918312] worked in a US 37x0. Those files are also 48MB and indicated as being for 2xxx so that's perhaps indicating the earlier 2xx0 family which also used ASR'1' files in common with 8xx and 37x0 rather than them being for the 2xx2/5/6/7. Instead of having to guess, it would be nice if someone with actual local unit/s and local experience would clarify.
Perhaps someone could compare and advise please?

For Asian fw 2x5W JCV capable models take 1410_type1918383 containing map and jcv file only. US fw 2x5W cannot use the JCV even if patched so can use the map only.

No point in using this map because it doesn't include MCE.

Hard to kill a 3790, but anything's possible. Here is a sure way to experiment without any chance of 'bricking': Put the new additional files on a microSD. The new map-related ASR files and the JCV files will work fine in sd:\Garmin\ASR and JCV sub-folders as will the map itself as gmapsupp.img in the Garmin folder or 'anyname'.img in a Map root folder. The SRD language files must remain in the unit's ASR folder itself however. If you have problems simply remove the card and the unit will function normally.
There is zero chance that any of those files if incorrect would stop your unit from booting though, and in the case of the JCV files your 3790 can probably use either the picture size 400*366 or 212*234.

The solution is to define tracks and pass to map developer.
Compress and send the GPX folder. Don't forget add a short description of what you sending...
The next version will be more complete and should include MCE and ECP.
Best regards!
PS: I suppose MCE means Marina Coastal Expressway, and ECP means East Coast Parkway; anyway, I ask for everybody that avoid acronyms, because this is a worldwide forum and the language must be easily understood for everyone.

Hi Neil,
Thanks for your reply. i actually did kill my 3790t once. I'm a full time mac user and not able to transfer some maps into the set, i used my office PC to transfer. i accidentally formatted the 3790 unit rather than the sdcard. so pissed with myself while using a PC windows os. i send back the unit to local agent, nice of them to reload everything back to original condition
another questions is :
i have installed MalFreeMap and updated the MalSingMap. also input in the Garmin City Navigator Singapore/ Malaysia NT 2014.10 map into my 3790 (unlock)
if i off all maps except the MalFreeMap, i can see the MCE. if i on all 3 maps, it seems like it running on the Garmin City Navigator Singapore/ Malaysia NT 2014.10 map only.
Please advise which map or maps should i put a tick on ( on )? i was told to tick on both Garmin City Nav. Sin / Mal map together with MalSinMal when i bought my 3790.
Thanks in advance for all your advise and time in replying.
Cheers,
Ter3138
@ter@;
Was not clear what is your problem…
If the problem is to activate 3 maps and see MalFreeMap / Marina Coastal Expressway, you can change the draw priority with: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] The higher value means the map shows above the others. Otherwise, not recommended to activate more than one map per region or you can have some issues, like the same road appear duplicated or overload the limited processor/memory of the GPS…
If the trouble is to put 3 maps in the same device, you can put a lot of then! More details in: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Never is enough remember to look the answer in:

Hope been helpful!

Technically you didn't kill it or even 'brick' it. You just temporarily disabled it by 'standard' formatting it using Windows, that's actually an easy fix which is no doubt why they were happy to do it. Nice of them to accommodate you regardless and good PR.
About your maps 'problem', just to add to what Pungente has wisely told you: The standard advice is to NEVER have more than one map enabled covering the same area. The problems may never be apparent or they maybe will occur quickly and catastrophically when you are in the middle of a very busy peak hours in an unfamiliar city. I once saw an AU 1390 which had on it both a current version of Navteq [HERE] and the previous version of Sensis CNNTs. I was horrified because the guy had both enabled. He then told me it had been like that on a trip from Perth WA to the East Coast and never missed a beat. When I told him that even though he'd driven right across Australia without a problem it could still freeze or reboot or worse if he drove a route thru a local suburb on B roads and side-streets on the way to the next suburb he didn't believe me. But that's possible. Often one map will cover the other/s as you've found even though the priority is the same [30 with CNs].
Safe option is tick only one at a time if they cover the same area.
