Previously external point addressing was D35850*0A.sid, the latest version came with 2014.10.

File was compiled 2 march 2015 15:27:14. Maybe it was uploaded on server after my update process. Garmin is known as brake system.

Damn it! MapUpdater is no friend to Europe NTU. So I do not check for fresh log.

I downloaded files first time yesterday with a 2595 xml file and I used GE and I was not thinking that it was an extra SID file with

Can anybody help?
I updated Nuvi 2599 to NTU 2015.40 device via GarminExpress , but noticed that gmap3d.img and gmapdem.img maps are missing. After removal of unnecessary files (voices, keyboards, etc) from internal memory I got about 2GB of free space (this with gmapprom.img present) and tried to update the map again but these 2 maps are still missing. I also looked at installed maps in ProgramData\Garmin folder on my PC and couldn't find them there as well. I copied gmapdem.img to SD card and device can see that map. I can't do the same with gmap3d.img because this file cannot be unlocked for Nuvi 2599. Any ideas how to get 3D map file on the device? Thanks.

Well the reason that G.E didn't give you these files is because 2599 isn't compatible with 3-D buildings and landmarks view. A product comparison between 3597 and 2599 can verify this.

I doubt your problem is to do with space on the unit. GE would have prompted you to insert a microSD card in that case and not simply 'skip' files.

I think 2599 cannot use 3D Buildings/Landmarks [gmap3d.img] nor can it use 3D Terrain [gmapdem.img]. That would be why GE didn't supply them to your LM unit. When you say "I copied gmapdem.img to SD card and device can see that map", do you mean that it only appears in the Map Info or can you actually see DEM [3D terrain] on your unit?

Ellinas, Neil, you're right even when Europe DEM is shown in the map list, Nuvi 2599 doesn't display any landmarks view.

Hi,

Just to say I managed to install City Navigator Europe NTU 2015-40 on a GPSMAP 64 s following Catymag post #20 here :

I first installed locked .gmap folder in BaseCamp, unlocked it with UnlockMapsource.exe, then generated unlocked .img file with BaseCamp (MapInstall).
Of course, I had the error message "can't authenticate map, concact your reseller" when I tried to display unlocked .img file on 64s.
So I ran GimgunlockMapsigPatch on unlocked .img file, then changed code page 65001 to 1252 with ImgTool, and finally loaded new .img file on 64 s : City Navigator was well displayed except the fact a few characters (accents) were not displayed.
After unloading new modified map and then reloading source original unlocked map, no bloody error message "can't authenticate maps", and map was well displayed with all characters.
