Need some help from anyone familiar with doing this on a Macintosh please.

I just brought a Nuvi 310 to Thailand and I managed to download a Garmin Thailand StreetMap v9_0_NT RAR file that is supposedly unlocked from Megauploads

I've unpacked it and it mounts as an .IMG file.

I've renamed that as gmapsupp2.img and dropped it into the Garmin folder on the device but all I see are two Australian maps.

    City Navigator Australia NT 2009
[1] MAREE, SA, QUILPIE, QLD, ROMA, Qld

    and

    City Navigator Australia NT 2008
    [1] ALL

The files in my Garmin folder are:

    gmapsupp2.img
    gmapbmap.img
    gmapprom.img
    gmapprom.sum
    gmapsupp.img

Anyone please tell me why I can't see the Thailand maps? After trolling through various threads here I'm not sure if I need these maps or the SEA maps. I'll mainly be using them in Bangkok and possibly Pattaya.

    Thanks very much.

Please check by remove all map accept gmapbmap.img.
And put TSM 9.0 in Garmin folder.

    @DJ-NRG

If I'm not wrong, the newer garmin nuvis do not support the filename gmapsup2.img. Not sure whether
it applies to 310, but try renaming it to gmapprom1.img and the map should appear in the unit.

    Thanks KIT 05 and Earthkeeper.

I tried both of those suggestions and got a "cannot unlock maps" error.

I then tried installing the TSM 9.0 map on its own as GMAPSUPP.IMG but the same thing

I guess that means the map is not unlocked.

All the keygen's I've found so far are for PCs/Windows. Does anyone know of a Macintosh one?

I then found a Thai and English version of Garmin Thailand StreetMap v9_0_NT which was supposed to be unlocked and when unpacked had one English folder and one Thai folder as well as a read me file and a Thailand JPG file. Both folders contained a GMAPSUPP.IMG file.

I dragged both folders onto the Nuvi along with the .nfo file into the Garmin folder and the Thailand map into the JPG folder.

    The result was nothing appearing.

Can anyone point me to a Mac OSX keygen please... or an unlocked version of these maps?

    Thanks again

    dear DJ-NRG,

AFAIK, Nuvi internal memory only recognize maps with the filename of gmapsupp.img, gmapprom.img & gmapprom1.img... since your Nuvi already have gmapsupp.img & gmapprom.img, try rename the gmapsupp.img that u have downloaded to gmapprom1.img... if u still can't view the thailand map, try to swap the filename... rename the original gmapsupp.img in your Nuvi to gmapprom1.img and keep the gmapsupp.img that u have downloaded...

one more thing, the unlocked version gmapsupp.img that u downloaded should be placed only in Garmin folder (ex: G:/Garmin/) NOT in other than Garmin folder (ex: G:/Garmin/whateverfolder/)...

hope this can solve your problem...

p/s: gmapbmap.img is a base map... don't delete this map...

    Thanks very much 9w2yon.

Tried what you suggested and everything returned "Can't unlock map" errors so it looks like both sets of maps that were supposed to be unlocked are not.

Anyone able to point me to some unlocked versions please?

Thanks very much 9w2yon I thought it was this one I had already downloaded but obviously not. I ended up leaving the Australian maps on the Nuvi 310 and putting this file on a 2GB card I got at Panthip today and it works fine.

    Thanks very much.

Default V9.0 NT on Nuvi 710

Loaded directly to SD and replaced the IMG file. Looks very good. Will see how well it works next month when visiting Bangkok, Chiang Rai and Phuket. Thanks very much.

TSM is well when you set the routing to the fastest time.
When you set to the shorter distance.,
it may take you to the dead end.:D
