Thread: Garmin Taiwan 8.65 CHT NT Map [0720 Release]

Thanks a lot, just a quesiton. I'm using an Australia model and it doesn't have traditional chinese input. Thus, even if I install the Taiwan CHT map, I won't be able to find roads and stuff. Is there anyway to get around with this. Can I like update the Taiwan firmware or something we I travel to Taiwan and install back to Australia firmware when I come back? Or can anyone provide a file for chinese input? Thanks

I have a US version of Garmin 255W. Since I am going to Taiwan this week, I downloaded and installed the unlocked map image on the SD card. Once I turned on the unit, it recognized the additional Taiwan map. However, I could not or did not know how to test it. Just hope that it will work when I get there. Since the unit does not have a Chinese keyboard, I guess I really cannot use the route capability of the unit. Thanks for sharing the map !!

another alternative would be flash the firmware to TW region.

Can anyone show how to flash the firmware to TW region. I bought my Garmin 310 from Australia

I am in an almost similar situation as you. What I did was to find the coordinates of all the places I am looking for. Then I just search on my GPS using coordinates

I tried to update from garmin updater site but no option for TW site
