Install Garmin Street Pilot v.2.16 Samsung Galaxy Android 4.1.2 Detailed Instructions&Pics
Install Garmin Street Pilot On Samsung Galaxy Android 4.1.2 easy way
Finally Garmin Street Pilot is available on Android 4.1.2-
This works only on 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
This doesn't work on Android 4.0.x or Android 4.2.x, 4.3
For newer Android version go here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This app has been ported from Asus Padfone, you wont find it on Google Play
Devices that are reported to work in post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
NOT SUPPORTED and NOT Working on:
NVIDIA Tegra 3
MediaTek MT6575
MediaTek MT6577
MediaTek MT6589
Credits and thanks to all Sosaw forum people providing resources to make this possible.
Interface in my PhilZ rooted Galaxy S2 stock rom is perfect. Satellites fix works, some glitches.
Navigation is ok, simulation works fine.
Best condition to have it working fine is: rooted phone and install to sdcard. Other solutions can give problems with autorotation, battery and sat.signal icons.
Warning: Maps compiled by CGPSMapper compiler often crash when calculating a route or recalculating a route, Garmin City Navigators work fine. A workaround here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Solution:Volume must be managed by phone volume settings after starting SP.

All other settings will be retained after you fix satellites and Street Pilot gets the position.
GPS ON drains a lot of battery so, when you close SP close GPS too by hitting the backbutton and selecting "OK". Don't exit using your "Home" button.
Step by step instructions and files.
Spoiler: instructions
I removed from original Sosaw's pack China map and I added some needed files I could download with Webupdater copying, in a Garmin folder, in a pendrive ,StreetPilot GarminDevice.xml file-
To test it I installed it to sdcard , but you can use other libgarminos+ related apk to install Garmin in other locations.
First download Garmin folder(Complete Package) and copy in your phone sdcard (internal memory)
Garmin.rar - RAR archive, unpacked size 680.152.523 bytes

Replace gmapbmap.img with this one: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Copy JCV to \Garmin\.System\JCV (test and pics in post n2)
You can find every files here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
NOTE: Street Pilot supports cityxplorer maps and NTU maps. It acts like a Nuvi 34xx. You can create a folder "Map" in Garmin directory and add multiple anyname.imgs.
SP cant see encrypted gpi files, Cyclops are encrypted, use SCDB. No sound ,but they appear on map.
Files structure:

For bigger resolution, like me on Galaxy Note (1280x800), you can use the libgarminos.so from v2.14 and it will give you large font and better view.
Cheers!

Reason: updated
from a BlackWolf post in another thread :for people who do not want to root their Android devices, my idea is to repack original StreetPilot .apk files and adding patched libgarminos.so and libgmxt.so, which would replace the original .so files - libgarminos.so, libgmxt.so , which are inside .apk, so in that way patched files will be added to the places where they need to be added, and the installation would then be ok too for no-rooted devices

Then you need to replace the libgarminos file manually after each reboot for it to work. If your phone does not replace the libgarminos file at reboot, you can use any apk and place the modified libgarminos in the correct path. But if your phone does not work that way and if replacing the file on every reboot is too much of a hassle, you have two further options
1) Use a blank apk, ie an apk whcih does not have the libgarminos lib file included. Then you just need to place the modified libgarminos file in the correct path and nothing gets overwritten on reboot.
2) Or you can decompile the apk, and make the necessary changes in the libgarminos file and recompile it with the modified file.
if you have problems with bad battery icon indicator you must modify libgarminos.so
but the file posted in starting post it's already modified
Note libgarminos.so in apk installer must match the one you copy in phone.
JCV test
Galaxy S2 rooted ,SP posted in starting post +languages +CNEU NTU 2013.41+Nuvi 40/50 NTU D3589070A.JCV
I tested JCV just in simulation and it works, I disabled highway mode.
When testing check please for the right path and for the right file: JCV version must be the same of CN version (2013.41 NTU .img+jcv 2013.41 NTU version).
Some maps will show jcv with copyright warning (Thai map).
Path is Phone/Garmin/.System/JCV/DXXXXXA.jcv
I used Nuvi 40/50 NTU JCV ,not so great as resolution but it works fine in portrait as split screen and in landscape as full screen, 34xx high res. NTU JCV shows a blank window instead, better resolution ,but it shows correctly just when you tap upper blue bar and select the junction you want to see, but it doesnt show in navigation.
Using NT map you can try series 1xxx jcv and give us feedback

Reason: added libgarminos files and BW note+ jcv test
Works like a charm if you follow what herries and catymag has, one thing though the primary map needs to be name gmapprom and not gmapsupp or Streetpilot will crash. Anyone have any idea on how to add "Test Language" I'm only getting American English and maybe ? Taiwanese. Thanks
Herries what kind of phone do you have? I have SGS2 stock rom 4.1.2 and it is only takes about 5 to 10 secs max to load up ??maybe its because you have the maps in a Map folder instead of .System folder??
Reporting a bug: If you search for something and hit the info button the details come up, there is a button to call the place you have search ie restaurant, store etc. That crashes Streetpilot. Not a big deal just reporting the big.
