If you love to use SgMy fw so you can only use SgMy version 2.30

Your 3790 will get rebooting loop for other later versions.
Or get 34xx fw as caty said. :Animated83. Then you can get the newest fw.
SgMy give you mp3 player not vdo player.
CHN 2.20 give you both.
CHN 2.20 is not the lastest fw but it is good enough to try.

You must use RGN tool to prepair your FW for flashing.

You can not flash another regional original gupdate.gcd into your 37xx., it may brick your gos, you need modified firmware. Originally Posted by Henn

You will get gupdate.gcd inside, this file you need to make a modified firmware.
Your modified firmware will be
- original US boot.bin hwid 1101
- resources.bin from CHN
- fw_all.bin from CHN (overrided hwid to be 1101)
Merge all 3 parts by rgn_tool. Then flash into your 37xx.

Can someone on Chinese or SgMy find and post their chinese keyboard file? Or at least a screenshot of it so I can see that it's working. I switched out to 34xx firmware from 3790US and added chinese maps, but can't input anything cause choosing any of the chinese keyboards just inputs english. Even trying someone else's zh_TW kbd file seems to just input english, so maybe missing some sort of file to make it work?
I thought it would be included in the firmware file, but apparently not.
So looking for zh_TW.kbd or ch_TW.kbd, or whatever else that may be needed to make it work.

Try CHN keyboard and let us know.
If don't work then you have one choice :: convert to 3790CHN (version 2.20) !!
(Thai kb won't work on 37xx-US firmware but works fine on 37xx-Thai firmware.

Yep, no go on the keyboards, as expected.
Guess I'll just have to flash v2.20 and see how that goes.

Edit: Seems like 2.20 is working perfectly. Tried 2.30 just in case, but got bootloops, so oh well, back to 2.20.
Is there anything else I should mod to unlock the full potential of a 3790US on 3790 2.20ch? PoI's or whatnot. New to the scene, so everything is really fresh and exciting/nervewracking.Last edited by IcyAirs; 23rd March 2012 at 07:22 PM.

Because you have 3790us-->3790chn then you have dode for full features of 3790chn now.
You should already get ; 3D Building/ 3D Terrain view/ voice command/. Bluetooth/. and all of others features.
Bonus ; You have got pois to show on map , feature " what street you are driving on" at the lower of screen when navigate , mp3 player , vdo player, contact , calendar , Easy to access satellite page - just press on sat signal bar-just touch it. /
You will loss ; just "co-ordinate" function.
If you love to go all versions of Asian firmware then you need 3750us - (no Bluetooth ) - you can get voice command just put on microphone as turboccc have done.
If you just need CHN keyboard , CHN 2.20 is fine for you- this version has no big bug and it run good enought (for me) , others later versions for minor update.Last edited by aekhong; 24th March 2012 at 01:59 AM.
