The same as in FW 7.90
I don't believe that they are going to change it at all.
It's the way Garmin wants to notify us for which custom poi we're being notified.

After update 7.90-> 8.10 I've got issue. Route isn't highlited anymore. I can see arrows when to turn, bun hilighted route wuth contrast color not shown. Reinstaled same firmware 8.10 again, changes maps themes - same problem.

Do a hard reset. That's standard 'first-aid' for any unusual behaviour, and it should always be done after fw upgrade and preferably before it as well. Backup your favourites first if you want.

Set Garmin default theme and try if you have highlited route, i have with Garmin default theme in FW 8.10 still pink highlited route.
Don't know if this was in 7.90 but today i see on FW 8.10, that if you have speed limit 130 in front of you and if you drive 110 only one time beep and then desapire alert and notification, if you drive 120/125 you have still one beep but you can see notification all the way to speed limit icone.
