Running programs from SD on nuvi

But this is for old nuvi,what about new nuvi like series 1xxx,2xxx,3xxx this will not work or its working?
Is procedure the same?

@Alexander,how did you find this solution for repair?

I thought that 2x0 didn't support ldr.bin, but looks like it could work. Probably nuvi 2x0 needs update.log to be present next to update.txt.

Kanopus, try this on REAL problem. Ldr.bin loaded on this devices (Nuvi 2x0) too late.

voyager56, 2.bin is my recovery file. I can even say why this file was such a strange size. In fact, this image with the old 3.5-inch floppy disk with FAT16 filesystem and corrected for 1 GB flash size

I didn't receive this file (or any other file) from you and I can't judge are you wright or not. I just share information which is available in some forum (link to this forum I posted).
EDIT:
In forum I mentioned before it's also available link to tool which allows to manage 2.bin recovery file as a disk image.

I try with this tool and i mount 2.bin and set as removeble HDD and in windows explorer you can see GARMIN drive and folder on it.
This work,you can also change folder inside and save it back and flash.I add all folder from my nuvi backup and save it in 2.bin (i remove voice from Voice folder)
I try on my nuvi 1300,i flash with 2xxx FW and nuvi wont start anymore and no PC conection.
Then i flash with modified 2.bin and nuvi start and i have all folder from nuvi 1300 backup on my nuvi.
But i have only 1GB fat disk.
I formated to fat32 and i have now 2GB space.Then add folder from backup back on nuvi, and 1300 now work like a charm.

This is revolution in how to repair nuvi.

I dont know who is create this file but i dont care i can just say thank you for this files and thanks to Popotnik and voyager56 to share this with other people who need help.

Hi, first time poster here. I had an issue where my internal memory on my nuvi 760 got erased but was formatted fat16 still. I used the files from page 2 to try and restore it. I was able to restore it but first of all my internal memory only shows 1gb when it should show 2gb and also when i go to show map on the main screen the map is blank almost like the basemap is missing. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?
