first of all , did you put the right .gcd file for your device? a wrong .gcd file could cause the problem.
After the Garmin Cure did you follow correctly the tips?
Pre-Boot for navigators GPSMAP 62 (s) (c) (t) 78 (s) (c) (t):
1. Turn off the navigator.
2. Hold down arrow "up"
3. Turn navigator holding the arrow "up"
Note: "You can also hold down the" Enter "

how do i find the pre-boot on the garmin 78s
Good day guys, I am having a problem garmin, garmin type my 78s,
I am beginning to install the latest gcd gcd old, after my latest copy gcd, my garmin errors, missing software. then i use garmin cure, but still can not, in my view appears usb garmin continues, can not enter the system garmin
if anyone could petrified friend???

all gcd file is correct, I just upgraded to mygarmin.com to download gcd. for garmin cure, I have done according to the instructions. but still can not.
okay, I will try to pre-boot. thx dear quinol

Have you called Garmin support to see what they'd offer you to resolve your issue?
sometime normal methods did not work, so its better to ask them .
otherwise as said above please repeat the steps.
1. Power OFF your Nuvi.
2. Press and keep holding the most right upper corner of the LCD screen
3. Power ON your Nuvi but DO NOT release your finger either from Power button nor from LCD screen (keep both pressed until the procedure ends)
4. You will notice Nuvi boots in Pre-Boot mode. Now quickly connect your USB cable. Prior to that make sure you have the latest Garmin USB drivers installed on your PC
