TracBack in Nuvi 3597 and others..

Tool to enable two hidden functions in the Nuvis 3597: TracBack and ecoRoute Standard.
I not deepened the use of Tracback yet, but its function is to record on Travel Planning the last path made in order to return the same way. Maybe it will be useful in off-road and also in road use.


The nuvi 3597 (as Nuvicam and others models with the same navigation system) have as defaults ecoRoute HD. The problem is that to use the feature you must purchase an optional accessory. With ecoRoute Standard may have many features for fuel economy, without the need of the optional accessory.
I made a tool that enables these two functions simultaneously.


Instructions:
- Download the attached zip file and unzip (are two folders: 1_ Record Mods and 2_ Original Restore)


- Copy the contents of 1_Record Mods folder to a blank micro SD card, insert in the GPS and wait for a restart .
- Check in Applications (Home screen) if now appears the TracBack and ecoRoute function


* Restoring the original condition:
- If for some reason you want to restore the original condition (without TracBack and with ecoRoute HD), copy the contents of the 2_Original Restore folder to an empty micro SD, turn on the GPS and wait for it to reboot again.




* surely the TracBack can be enabled on all models of the same operating system family, possibly from 2013 and later models.
Tested in the nuvi 3597 and nuviCam.

Did you try to make similar for your nuvi 3490?

Yes, I tried, but unfortunately the 3490, and surely the whole series with the same navigation system, do not have the feature.

Not enable . Probably Garmin removed the feature due to a conflict of 3D image on map, in interaction with the recorded videos.

... and Direct Access to what?

Direct Access is a feature designed to offer an improved experience when visiting a destination located inside of another Point of Interest (POI). Whether it is finding a specific airport terminal, or visiting a favorite store at the mall, your nuvi is ready to lead the way.
When searching for a location the device will display a list of relevant locations for the intended destination. For example, locating an Airport may also provide results for specific terminals or auto rental locations.

When navigating to a destination located inside of another POI the device will provide a verbal announcement for both the destination, and the POI it is located within.

Additionally, when navigating to a location with multiple entrances, the device will offer routing to the closest entrance. Upon arrival, the device will also provide a visual indication of the building entrance on the map.

Direct Access is not available for all Points of Interest, but can include locations such as:

Airports
Shopping Malls
Shopping Districts
Public Transit Hubs
Arenas or Sports Stadiums
Museums
National Monuments
Animal Park/Zoo
College University or Campus
Hospitals
Ski Resorts
Convention Centers

Direct Access is currently only available on the following devices:

nuvi 67/68
nuvi 2509 series

Direct Access is a new feature that helps users finds places that are located inside larger buildings or groups of buildings. Users can, for example, easily search for restaurants and stores inside a mall; or terminals, parking, and auto rentals inside an airport. The new navigators automatically guide drivers to the entrance that’s closest to their final destination and indicate where it is located. The nüvi will, for example, say: “American Eagle Outfitters® is inside, on the upper level.”
