How to patch unlock garmin img

Agreed - the img unlockers do fail on the largest file of the GB Discoverer Full file. You can get it to work (I did) by copying the locked img file directly to your SD card and by then adding an UNL file to the SD card too. You need the patched JM keygen as outlined in post 10 of the Garmin GB Discoverer 1:50K - Full Coverage (2.00) topic (sorry I don't have enough posts to post links..yet)

How do I add an Expire Date to the Unlock script? I need the img file to become locked at a certain date in the future so it can longer be used. My understanding is that I need to create an img file with a lock on it and then use an unlock file that will expire......thus re-locking the img file.

you cant.
the best you can do is to get the device to promt that you have old maps and have to uppgrade, but after you hit ok the device will function as normaly.
this "old maps promp" is nothing that can be done with the script, its in the firmare of the gps.

I've read about a utility called cGPSmapperKey.exe that you can use to generate unlock files inwhich you can assign an expire date. Has anyone used this utility? See below..

"To generate unlock key for these maps using cGPSmapperKey the following information needs to be provided:

FID
ProductCode
RegionID
GPSID
Expiration date (if exist)"

I have spent hours and hours searching for a tool to unlock locked .img files. There is tons of rubbish out there, but this method is brilliant and works as advertised! Thanks a million for your generosity in sharing this.
As an aside, I purchased 4 second hand maps from secondhandgpsmaps.com despite being very suspicious about them. It seems my suspicions were warranted as they only delivered two of the four maps I paid for. The maps are all locked. They have not responded to my email enquiries about the missing maps or given me an indication on how to unlock the maps. So beware!
But your method here has solved the problem nicely. Thanks again.

I have trieed to unlock G2 vision bluechart img map and when this "garmin unlock script" finishs nothing hapens i pressed the enter like you said but there is no my file just original file. Please help.
