Enable features in your nuvi 12xx, 13xx and 14xx - JCV, LA, TTS

Hi Greybus,
I'm also very very gratefull for LA,JV and speed limit and would also like routing on my 1300.
I believe it's been done on standard Firmware but not released to Forums community.
Maybe one day we will get it.
One Option is to buy 2nd User 1490.

Hi All,
great job, well done. But I have an additional request: is it possible to activate Routes also on 13xx? I have a 1390T and specs reports no route. 1490T has 10 routes memory capability and transfer from basecamp.

Flashing with this splash is a good start to enabling routes on 13xx. This is easy and safe, the rest is fraught with danger and not for the feint hearted or inexperienced. Asian 14xx fw is the only way as far as i know. Have a good look thru this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. In the last post dasilvarsa report enabling custom routes and more using modded Nuvi1480_360 JPN fw, but there were many hurdles and he lost Pedestrian Mode. Maybe you should post in that thread for help after you read it entirely.

Thanks to your help I've now enabled my Garmin Nuvi 1340 for Junction View I followed the instructions here and everything went perfectly. All working fine. Does anyone know if it's possible to enable the usage mode on the 1340 to Truck or H.G.V. without losing any other features? Also can I still use My Dashboard on the Garmin website with these newly enabled features and my "new" maps? My thanks again to you all.

How do I enable TTS in Nuvi 1100 hwid 971. My main problem is to get the vpm file for Jill american english voice. I have the gcd for 1.8 and 2.9 versions of Jill tts voice but I am not able to extract the vpm file. I have tried removing the first 60 bytes using hex editor and saving as vpm file but ttsvoice editor says invalid file.

JCV and lane assist are working. Thanks to wonderful contributers.

Use RGN_Tool to extract the file and rename it to English_American_Jill.vpm

Thanks a lot. It worked perfectly. Copied English_American_Jill.vpm to voices folder. Restarted Garmin and It showed up in tools->settings->language menu.

Popotnik has posted a method of doing this modification by using SD Card.

Might be useful if you do not wish to use pre-boot mode.

It works by flashing region 16 directly with the logo.bin using the xrgn method.
