Hi,
I have noticed on the inventory page of my nuvi 1310 there is an item named Dir DB that shows as deleted. I am assuming it can be nothing essential as everything seems to be working. Anyone know what Dir DB is, or in my case was!!!

You need to also put the GPS in Mass Storage Mode.
I don't have a 3790 but here's how it's done on a similar model. Try this!
To get into Mass storage mode....
go to the GPS speaker/volume screen and hold upper Right Hand corner ~10 sec until you get a hidden menu
from the pop-up menu select "MTP Settings"
There you should be able to a select Mass Storage Mode option
The device now looks like normal USB drive

Dir DB = gmapoem.img =Nuvi OEM detailed mapset
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Just as a (maybe) interesting expansion on Caty's answer re Dir DB/gmapoem.img. An oem mapset may never have been present in your Nuvi 1310 from new and almost certainly wasn't in fact. Although that name can often be used for another map, there is no point trying except out of interest because you can have multiple 'anyname'.img files in a root folder named Map. Rarely used for a preloaded detail map, but often used in Garmin/'other brand' navigators for dealer poi maps etc, eg BMW. If you're interested further, there's some dumb questions by me and some smart answers by others which fully explain the use of 13xx map naming in Inventory and their relationship to Garmin's conventional naming system in this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Warning, reading the whole thread may do your head in. I could barely follow it and i started it. As far as gmapoem working as a normal detail map and being selectable/unselectable is concerned though, 'Some maps will, some maps won't' (Apologies to Racey).

It seems from both replies to my question that Garmin use the same inventory list for most models whether the features are installed or not. The link to the other posting Neil looks like interesting reading....

For Nuvi 1410, in which file store telephone number? not phonebook because my telephone don't send this. Because store the last call numbers and if is posible edit this file.?
You can only make a new waypoint and enter a phone number in its properties.
Phonebook is not present in file on device and only it load in RAM.
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
I check whit two telephone whitout phonebook send, and GPS rember the last numbers I was use whit it (DIAL ->folder on the upper left). For this I think the GPS store the numbers in some file.
Probably in GarminDevice.xml

No doubt only in RAM. No mirror there is in file system for security reason. All this data as phone book and call entry is available only in case of pairing with the parental phone. If data had wrote in unprotected file system even if device delete this temporary file there is no problem to recover data for unauthorized access!
