    Default IGO Primo and maps on SD card

    Is there a way to move maps to the mini SD card?
    The new updates of the EU are more massive and won't fit entirely in the device itself.
    It seems to be possible to run IGO Primo on a mini SD card. Some even seems to sell it on a single SD card (maps plus program).
    (I did it on an old NAVMAN device)
    Chinese navigation devices have an option for 8GB SD card.
    But is that inside the device or through a direction to the additional mini SD that you can insert in the side?
    How to point to that SD card?

    I guess he have WinCE device, not android.
    @brnrds: post in proper section
    Then, do you really need whole content? Whole EU? I'm pretty sure you will not visit the Europe in one single trip.
    Then:
    - Primo don't use fjw files (can not "see" them)
    - you don't need all hnr files, (if you are using all EU files, you don't need separate East and West. If you are going to travel to west EU, then you don't need East and Full. Got it?)
    - you need truck fles (ftr)?
    - you need standard and truck poi?
    ...etc etc...
    It is much smarter to put content just who you really need! This way you will also unballast device.

    As for the questions for content to be transferred to the device, yes, it is possible, and it is possible very easy.
    Only before that, you have to tell me which device you have, what version of the navigation software, and how it is set.

    The device is a new Chinese unknown 7 inch, it runs in Windows CE (about 3GB memory?).
    Something like this one: KEELEAD 7 "screen HD Auto GPS Navigatie 800 Mhz CPU 128 MB/256 MB RAM 4 GB/8 GB ROM NAV
    I solved it half. I copied the entire content of IGO Primo on the SD card.
    In the menu choose the Nav path on the SSD card. Now the device starts using IGO on the SD card.
    IGO seeks its maps in the direction where it is installed, that is now also the SD card.
    In that way I could extent the "memory" (external) to load the full Europe maps.
    However, I really would like to run IGO on the device itself and let it seek the maps or the CONTENT map on the SD card.
    That would require a register-change or changing the location appointment in IGO.
    It would be faster I think then running on the SD?
    The problems rise because you have to find out what kind of updates you need.
    I can't specify all of that since it's unknown what device type it is. Some sites offer automatic updates but require a specification of the device type.
    There are so many file-extensions that it drives me crazy. Cause some are not compatible with the device or each other or it's a new file format.
    For instance IGO will only recognize speedcam.txt format.

    Thanks for the response.

    No.
    If you use a card class 8/10, it's certainly faster than the chip that is soldered to device's main board. In some cases even class4 is faster. Also, that way is easier to manipulate.
    Read:

    Anyway, you have the ability to put the software into the device? Ok, put it.
    But again - why the hell you need the whole of Europe???

    Try the following:
    - Put the program into the internal memory
    - Create this folder structure on the external SD card: \addons\content\building, \addons\content\map, \addons\content\poi
    - Move the building, map and poi files in the appropriate folder
    - Delete the entire [folders] section from the sys.txt (if available)

    - Put the iGO on internal memory
    - move CONTENT folder on SD and edit sys:

    [folders]
    content="\SDMMC\Content"

    or

    [folders]
    content="\Storage Card\Content"

    it depends on how your unit see SD card. In most cases on China wince devices is "SDMMC"

    Colleagues...
    I know all the possible solutions to the content on the card for WinCE devices
    The easiest I've suggested a few days earlier in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
    However, it is better to teach a man anything rather than give him a ready-made solutions. And how to use the forum.

    tells everything.
    As well as wish to put a complete Eu on the device.

    On WinCE, assuming your card has the following structure :
    Card\iGO_content\content\
    ---------------------------building\.3dc
    ---------------------------dem\.dem
    ---------------------------map\.fbl
    ---------------------------poi\.poi

    [folders]
    has_secondary_root=1
    secondary_root= "iGO_content"

    The application will use content from both folders : Flash\iGO\content & Card\iGO_content\content

    OR

    [folders]
    maps="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\map"
    buildings="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\building"
    dem="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\dem"
    maps="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\map"
    poi="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\poi"
    kmlpoi="\\Storage Card\iGO_content\content\userdata\poi"

    You need to identify under which name a card is seen by the SO, using CECmd.
    On mine device is Storage Card.

    Why do you think Primo does not see the files fjw? Everything is good Primo
