    Guide Newbie and totally confused

    Hello,

I love this forum and the great ideas I find here.
I have a 2Din China RNS with Android Kitkat 4.4. It came with Igo installed (9.6.29.329069). In the Igo/content/skin directory are 3 skin (.zip) files (Leinad_v2.4.11.zip, diMkaWa_P153_default.zip and gjak_1.08.zip). When I try to change the colours using the day colour selection, I get a choice of 76 schemes, but none of them have the names of these skins - does this sound normal?

    So, I downloaded a few files form here namely 1. wojpen_diMka_skin's_Android 2. Gena_iCarNav and 3 GjAk_v2.2_Anne-41,zip
The 1st has 20 zip files in the folder
The 2nd has a ux folder with 50 zip files in
The 3rd is a zip archive with an info.ini file and two folders in - gfx and ui_android

Where on my Igo sd card should I put these files so I get the skin choice?

One feature I really like is the trip progress bar on the side which will show delays etc (much like my TomTom did with TMC connected). I assume this is in one of the skins. Is it?

I should add that I am on a iMac, with Mac OSX and have NO MS Windows anywhere to help with editing.

I really hope someone can help my confusion

    Thanks and best wishes
    Bill

do you need a skin or schemes?

    skin :
diMka WA aP.1.3.3 >>> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Doupas ver. 8.7 >>>> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    place in: iGO>content>skin

    schemes:
Schemes for the family iGO >>> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    place in: iGO>content>Scheme

knowing the device resolution makes it easyer to point you to the exact location.

Thanks NAWAF for the explanation skins/schemes. So , it seems I have 76 schemes to chose from (confirmed from my directory tree).

From what I had read elsewhere, I should be able to change the skin by going to 'Change Day Colour' and selecting another skin - is that correct? If so, it doesn't work for me, which is why I don't know if I'm doing this in the correct way.

Schemes are changed under Map Settings/Day/Night Color, Skins are changed under Settings/Program Settings/Display

you can change the skin by going to ... settings>display>day skin theme .... and select the skin you wish to use ... like diMka WA aP.1.3.3
again go ....while on display>night skin theme .... and select the skin you wish to use ... like diMka WA aP.1.3.3

exit and restart iGO for changes to take effect ... and redo your setup according to the new skin.

    scheme:
you can change the scheme by going to ... settings>map settings>day map color ....... and select the day scheme you wish to use .
again go ....while on map settings>night map color....... and select the night scheme you wish to use .

    here is an example:
    skin: diMka WA aP.1.3.3 modern
scheme : nextgen day, nextgen night

it is easy ... just keep trying you will get it (eventually).

    good luck

I think I understand now. I have put 2 more <skin>.zip files in the iGO/content/skin folder, I have deleted all files un the save folder before starting iGO after putting the zip files in the skin folder but STILL, when I select Tools, Display in the Menu, I only see the option of Default, and Default-night. Is there something else I should be doing?

knowing the device resolution makes it easyer to point you to the right direction .

if skin is not compatible with resolution you would not see it ... also you might need some editing to the sys.txt.
