Better contact the appropriate ones or look for specialized.
I have a 4NSF Navigon which is known as Skoda Maps and Fun. My vehicle is December 2013 build. When I bought the vehicle the Navigon had deep scratches to the screen. I disassembled to investigate replacement . As part of this ( i must have assembled and disassembled 10 times) the touch screen stopped functioning therefore I researched and ordered a replacement from China. I have bought a replacement device, which means I can repair this one at my leisure either to sell on or to have a spare.
The replacement screen arrived yesterday ano I expected that it would be a simple swap over. With the original screen fitted the device boots to a screen offering options which can be selected, but the touch screen does not allow any further progress. When I swap over the screens ,the new screen illuminates white and no more. Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot? I have tried swapping back and the device is still booting ok, though the cable seems to be damaged and only works intermittently.

I consider myself pretty adept at using forums having done so for more than 20 years. However, if you feel that I have in some way not followed the rules of this particular group then I apologise. In this instance, I have fitted a replacement like for like screen to a Navigon 4NSF and the new screen is only displaying a white screen when powered on. I was simply wondering if this is because it needs some sort of configuration or reset on the the unit. I don't understand how this type of screen works , so was asking for assistance. What sort of further information/photographs do you feel would be useful ? I am happy to provide as much information as needed. Thanks in advance.
It's the same screen and the same principle as any other device.
I have personally replaced several screens on laptops (from different models and brands), tablets, navigation devices (when I was a little bit younger ). I have friends in cell phone service who change various screens every day ...
If the new screen is really right replacement (appropriate connections and voltage), if the connector and wiring are correct, it must work.
However, it would not be the first time that a device comes from China as DOA.
