I have the same problem as you with a confusion between the sound alarm fod the speed limit and the radar sound alert that are the same.

I wonder why ( under the Turbocc's control ) if doubling the radar POI file would not be a solution. You add a second POI files ( named differently " RADAR PRE ALERT") with the same GPS position the radar file. But you extend or reduce the alert zone in order the it does not sound at the same moment the original alert. If you reduce, the zone you use for example a "Emergency Horn" wav file, that will make you undertand that radar is very close .

By the way we have now a new problem in France. By law ( Feb 2012 ) it is forbidden to indicated precisely where are the radars, and by law the radar position map makers have to add many kilometers of dangerous zone that can or cannot include really radars. The dangerous zones are decided by the state, and obviously every 5 kilometers you enter a new dangerous zone that will extend for 4 kilolometers. Due to this the radar function is not any longer operative !

Is there a software able to edit a garmin GPI file ( the last updated and dully purchased), to identify where are the true radars ( real radars have bearing ) , clean the fake ones, and recompile it in a GPI file ?

I've had success in making Directional Speed Camera POI (works similar to Cyclops) with this program. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I used the circles function as described on this page[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I also read through this discussion[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I wonder if Turbo is still developing this software or not ?
Have'nt seen any posts by him lately ?

Hey, can anyone help me with this?:

I've been trying to have a custom "Where To" icon but I'm getting wierd colors. Attached you may find the bmp's and screenshots from my nüvi 205. I activated the "Alternate Where To Icon Format" in the preferences since without it, it looks even uglier. I guess it has something to do with the alpha channel but I've been trying for hours and the only way things look acceptable is to:
- Convert to indexed PNG in GIMP
- "convert Beaches1.png -colors 256 Beaches1.bmp" (i.e. imagemagick)
Unfortunately, this comes at the price of removing the shadows completely (they would look crappy with 256c).

Version 5.35 fixes an issue with Geocoding caused by Google upgrading the Maps API from version 2 to version 3. Therefore, if you are a heavy user of the Geocoding feature, this update is for you!

EDIT: To clarify, Google deactivated version 2 of the Maps API a few months ago. Version 5.32 used this API to allow users to derive an address from a set of coordinates. When the API was deactivated, the program lost this capability. The new version changes the API to version 3 so Geocoding works again.
